Denso 0460 Injector Codes Explained

Original vs Genuine Aftermarket — What’s the Difference?
You’ve received a set of Denso 0460 injectors that look a bit different to what you were expecting. No stress — here’s exactly what’s going on. Why do these injectors look different? There are two versions of the Denso 0460 in the market right now.

The first is the Original Style (OEM). Each injector has a unique calibration code engraved on top. Every unit is individually tested and calibrated at the factory, and the ECU reads that code to fine-tune fueling for each cylinder.
The second is the Genuine Denso Aftermarket version, which is what you may have received. These injectors don’t have an individual code on them. Instead, they come with a single generic calibration code on paper, and every injector in the set is built to the same standardised spec.

Why did Denso change this?

Denso introduced the aftermarket version to improve availability, simplify manufacturing, and offer a more cost-effective option. Rather than coding every injector individually, they now produce them to a tight standard spec. The quality is still genuine Denso — the calibration method is just different.

What does this mean for you?
These are still 100% genuine Denso injectors. They are designed to run within factory operating limits and are suitable for standard replacement applications. The only difference is that OEM injectors are individually fine-tuned per cylinder, while the aftermarket version runs a standardised calibration across the full set.

Which code do I use?
Use the generic calibration code that came in the box with your injectors. Enter that same code for each injector where the vehicle requires it. If you’re not sure, stop and contact us before you fit anything.

Why do we supply this version?
We source injectors based on availability, supply consistency, and application fit. In some cases, the genuine aftermarket version is simply the best option available at the time of your order.

Before you fit them
Make sure the fuel system is clean and free of contamination. Use only the code that was supplied with your injectors, and follow the correct installation procedure throughout.

Not what you were after?
If you specifically needed original-style, individually coded injectors, contact us before installation and we’ll sort it out.
